Orlando welcomes more than 50 million visitors each year and remains the most visited destination in the United States. Many come to Orlando to enjoy the world-famous theme parks & attractions. But for many, vacationing at the "Happiest Place on Earth" may present several challenges. Those suffering from Celiac Disease & gluten intolerances may experience heightened levels of anxiety while on vacation, as they are left without a kitchen and are forced to find restaurants that offer gluten free options.

Jennifer Christ, of Orlando FL, was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in August of 2010, 2 weeks before her 25th birthday.

"With gluten free products lining the shelves of even my local grocers, eating at home was an easy transition. However, I found that dining out gluten free presented real challenges and can create a lot of anxiety for those of us with Celiac Disease," says Jennifer. "Traveling can be the hardest, because you are forced to eat out and you are not familiar with your surroundings and the local restaurants."

This is why Jennifer created her blog, http://www.CeliacInOrlando.com, where she chronicles her gluten free dining travels in Orlando. Once a week, she tries a new restaurant in Orlando and reports back about their gluten free selection, the staff's gluten free knowledge & the overall gluten free experience.

It is estimated that Celiac affects 1 in every 133 Americans. So with over 50 million visitors, that means there are over a half a million people making dining decisions in Orlando each year based off of their gluten free needs. "I wanted to create a site that would help tourists find gluten free friendly restaurants and give them a bit more confidence with dining out while on vacation here," Jennifer stated.

Since launching the site in September of 2013, Jennifer has seen an explosion of growth. With over 15,000 views a month, she is ranking top on google for those searching for gluten free restaurants in Orlando. She is now receiving emails daily from visitors, and even locals, thanking her for the resource she has put together.

Jennifer recently quit her job as a Marketing Director to pursue CeliacinOrlando.com full time. She looks forward to working with more restaurants & helping raise awareness as to why the gluten free diet is so important and why strict gluten free procedures need to be followed in the kitchen in order to avoid cross-contamination of dishes.

She also announced this week a new partnership program where she will be working with local restaurants, brands and companies looking to grow within her niche market. For those wanting to connect with her and learn more about the new partner/advertising program, she can be contacted at jennifer(at)celiacinorlando(dot)com.

If you are traveling to Orlando and follow a gluten free diet, be sure to check out Jennifer's site (http://www.CeliacInOrlando.com) for recommendations on where to eat out gluten free. She has even compiled a list of the top 10 gluten free restaurants in Orlando. You can also visit her site to learn more about Celiac Disease and the recent statistics regarding the gluten free diet.
