The Southeast’s Largest Restaurant Delivery Service Adds Nutritious Hope Bars to its Menu to Feed the Hungry Through the “Buy 1, Nourish 2 Project.”

Following its recent expansion into even more cities nationwide, the Southeast’s largest restaurant delivery service “Doorstep Delivery” puts its power to good use teaming up with Bar of Hope to help eradicate malnutrition and hunger through a standardized food bar, the Hope Bar, Doorstep Delivery announces today. Starting this month, as part of the “Buy 1, Nourish 2 Project,” customers of Doorstep Delivery Orlando can add a whole food Hope Bar to their order and a Doorstep mobile waiter will deliver a nutritious bar to a member of the local homeless community through their delivery routes, plus a second bar will be donated on their behalf and shipped to a hungry child in a vulnerable country in need.

How it works: When customers visit http://www.DoorstepDelivery.com to place a food delivery order from one of Doorstep’s over 250 Central Florida restaurants, they will see a “Charity” option at the top of the menu to make a donation of $3, $5 or $10. For $3, customers will receive one sustainable meal Hope Bar and give two – one delivered to a local hungry person by a Doorstep driver and one shipped to feed the hungry in a country in need. For $5, customers receive two bars and give four – two delivered to the local hungry by a Doorstep driver and two shipped to feed the hungry in a country in need. For $10, customers receive four bars and give eight – four delivered to the local hungry by a Doorstep driver and four shipped to feed the hungry in a country in need.

Doorstep Delivery’s corporate headquarters and flagship location teamed up with Orange County Public Schools Principal Trevor Honohan of Glenridge Middle School, who spearheads the Bar of Hope initiative, to help kick start the worthy campaign. Doorstep Delivery Orlando is the first branch to launch this partnership, with plans to bring the program to its other nearly 20 markets. The Hope Bar was created to contain the necessary vitamins, minerals and nutrients that a child needs in order to sustain life, and it’s the first standardized whole food bar that will pave the way in helping to eradicating malnutrition, according to Honohan.

“Our mobile waiters constantly see hungry and homeless people in our community every day,” says CEO of Doorstep Delivery Chris Barnes. “Hunger is a huge epidemic in this community, in the country and all across the world, and Doorstep Delivery is committed to do our part in helping fight this battle, and we are encouraged through this exciting new partnership with Bar of Hope to make a notable difference.”
