As part of the City’s ongoing efforts to be one of the most sustainable cities in the country, earlier this week our City Council approved a partnership with OUC which allows for the installation of 30 new hydration stations throughout the city at our parks, community centers and neighborhood centers.

These new stations will enhance our current water fountains by providing residents with an easy way to refill reusable water bottles while on the go. The stations will not only save our residents time and money by allowing them to re-use water bottles conveniently, but will also reduce the number of plastic bottles recycled every year and provide easily accessible, clean water to keep our residents hydrated while in our parks or at our community and neighborhood centers.

OUC has agreed to pay for 25 percent of the costs to install the new stations and the City will cover the rest with money we have saved do doing energy retrofits across the city.

The stations are another way we can continue to transform our urban environment and make our city more liveable by enhancing our parks and providing our residents with the tools to help them reduce their impact on our community.

Locations that will get one or two of the new hydration stations over the next two months, include:
