Artegon Marketplace Orlando brings new retailers and attractions, as well as four on-the-go food purveyors.

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) April 03, 2015

Artegon Marketplace Orlando, the one-of-a-kind 1.1 million-square-foot shopping attraction and artisan marketplace located in the heart of Orlando’s tourism district on North International Drive, recently announced scheduled opening dates for its newest retailers and attractions, as well as four on-the-go food purveyors.

Four food kiosks are scheduled to open this month in the center’s Great Hall. At Florida’s first U Roll Express, customers can create their own sushi roll by choosing from a variety of high-quality, sushi-grade ingredients, toppings and delicious sauces and flavorings. Operated by Belgian owners, The Belgian Waffles kiosk sells authentic Liege or Brussels-style waffles with several sweet topping options. Francophiles can get their fix at the Le Petit Café kiosk, serving traditional hot and cold espressos, teas and coffees, frappes, croissants and other pastries, and gourmet sandwiches. The Yogen Früz kiosk will purvey delicious and nutritious frozen desserts.

Scheduled for an April opening is the nation’s first International Hot Glass, a 4,300-square-foot glass gallery showcasing artists from around the world and a studio where guests can work with a professional glassblower to create their own piece of art.

On track for a June debut is GODS & MONSTERS, the first high-end innovative comics and collectibles store of its kind in the country. Occupying 19,000 square feet, the retailer will offer the genre’s most sought-after merchandise including new and rare releases, import items and vintage collectibles along with a gaming lounge, a food service center and a pop-culture fine art gallery, featuring an ever-changing array of top-quality comic-and-media-themed art from local, national and international artists.

This summer will also bring the scheduled opening of Sky Zone, the second Central Florida location for “the world’s first indoor trampoline park.” Ideally designed for individual and group events alike, guests experience “fun fitness” and the weightlessness of bouncing, flipping and landing in a pit filled with 10,000 foam cubes with trampolines from wall to wall.

Since opening last November, one major dining anchor (Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill) and several small retailers have debuted, including Beef Jerky Outlet, the national brand’s first store in the region selling more than 200 different kinds of jerky, including exotics like alligator and kangaroo; and Bon posh, Orlando's largest fashion jewelry outlet. A number of artisans have expanded their spaces or taken up residence within The Village at Artegon Marketplace. Examples include the doubling of Florida Soap Company’s footprint to 500 square feet and the addition of The Paper Airplane Museum & Store, selling and displaying a unique array of aviation milestones rendered on paper, plus books, postcards, tin soldiers and more.

“We’re off to a great start, with local residents and visitors alike embracing our bold new shopping concept for Orlando,” said General Manager Thearon Scurlock. “We continue to curate a rare collection of the area’s most talented artisans along with food and drink purveyors, first-to-market brands in dining and retail, as well as must-experience attractions, making each trip to Artegon Marketplace a totally new shopping adventure unlike any other in the area.”

Distinctive to the shopping attraction is Florida’s largest daily indoor artisan marketplace. The Village at Artegon Marketplace houses 165 artisanal shops and stores where local craftspeople sell and demonstrate their products and services. Among the offerings are hand-made leather goods, accessories, jewelry, mixed media artwork, custom clothing and locally-sourced foods.

Complementing The Village at Artegon Marketplace are some of the biggest brands in dining and retail. Newcomers will join established anchor tenants including the area’s only Bass Pro Shops, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Sheplers Western Wear, Cinemark Theaters and Book Warehouse, a “Sky Trail” ropes course (paid admission) and a variety of other food offerings, including pizza sandwiches and salads. Rounding out the guest experience are streetmosphere performers, from jugglers to singers to stilt walkers, strolling throughout the shopping attraction on weekends and special events designed for all ages throughout the year.

Artegon Marketplace was inspired by such famous marketplaces as Seattle’s Pike Place, Boston’s Faneuil Hall, New York’s Chelsea Market and the London Flower Market, and reinvents the traditional Orlando shopping experience. Guests can experience a unique blend of talented artists, craftspeople and world-renowned anchor tenants all at one amazing location. They can watch a glass-blown work of art take shape before their eyes, talk with a custom jeweler as their memory-making piece gets its final touches and immerse themselves in a space where talented artists and craftspeople create one-of-a-kind works of art just for them. Guests never know what’s around the corner at Artegon Marketplace. They can make memories, expand horizons, tingle the senses and satisfy curiosities in this shopping mecca.

Operating hours are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday. Artisan studios will be open Monday-Saturday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. and noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday.
