Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz to Join Consulate of Mexico and Casa de Mexico to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo


WHAT:
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 2 City Commissioner Tony Ortiz invite Central Florida residents to join the Consulate of Mexico and Casa de Mexico to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the City of Orlando. The event is part of the City’s continued commitment to embrace diversity and provide residents state-of-the art amenities and cultural events.
Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of the Mexican army over the French army in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The event represents a tradition for the Hispanic/Mexican community to celebrate freedom and liberty, honor the bravery of those who fought against oppression and promote national pride and preservation of Mexican culture.
This event will feature Mexican performances and traditional food and drinks.
