For football fans like me, this is a wonderful time of the year. But even if you aren’t a fan of the sport, you can still appreciate the impact that football has on our region’s economy.
This week our Camping World Stadium will host a Miami Dolphins-Atlanta Falcons preseason game and on September 5, Florida State and Ole Miss will meet in the inaugural Camping World Kickoff. The Dolphins-Falcons matchup will be the first NFL contest in Orlando in 20 years.

Why are games like this important for our region? Because they keep our local economy buzzing with tourism, travel, and hotel room bookings. And football brings visitors to all corners of our community, including the restaurants and shops in our Orlando Main Streets.

The estimated economic impact for the Camping World Kickoff is between $30-40 million, while the Dolphins-Falcons contest will add an estimated $15-25 million.
And when we host the NFL Pro Bowl for the first time in January, another $30-40 million is estimated to be pumped into our region’s economy.
And don’t forget about our annual football events like the Florida Blue Florida Classic, AutoNation Cure Bowl, Russell Athletic Bowl and Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl. We’ll also again host the Florida High School Athletic Association State Football Championships.
Camping World Kickoff
Events that benefit Central Florida are why we modernized Camping World Stadium. Since reopening at the end of 2014 following massive reconstruction, the stadium has hosted concerts by the Rolling Stones and Guns N’ Roses, world-class soccer during the Copa America Centenario and a U.S. Women’s Soccer National Team match.
The stadium has helped Orlando become the country’s leading destination for major sporting events. Next April WrestleMania, which has generated $100 million in economic impact to its host region, returns to Orlando.
Our community is getting a strong return on our investment in Camping World Stadium.
