Annual Summer Event Offers Pours of Seven Remarkable Wines for $25

ORLANDO, Fla., July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Today, The Capital Grille announced the return of its signature summertime offering, The Generous Pour Wine Event. From July 7 through August 31, 2014, guests can experience seven wines for $25 per person with dinner. The much-anticipated Generous Pour will offer a collection of wines that have been hand-selected by The Capital Grille’s own Master Sommelier George Miliotes, one of only 219 Master Sommeliers worldwide. Guests are invited to explore and enjoy as many of these remarkable wines and varietals as they like.

“This year’s Generous Pour will feature a range of varietals from the fruitiness of Carmel Road’s “Liberated” Riesling to Freemark Abbey’s sweet and spicy Merlot,” said Master Sommelier George Miliotes. “Based on individual preferences, our servers will provide tasting notes and suggest pairings for each course allowing guests to craft their own personalized wine dinner.”

One of the more notable wines on this year’s Generous Pour line-up is an inaugural Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from the winemakers at La Crema in Sonoma County, CA. La Crema’s Pinot Noir will be their first wine produced outside the State of California. With a stunning balance of acidity, earthiness and vibrant fruit, Miliotes says this is a “do it all” wine that pairs well with seafood and steak.

The inaugural vintage of Arrowood “Catchwire” Cabernet from Sonoma, CA is another noteworthy addition to this year’s offering. Blended by The Capital Grille’s George Miliotes and Arrowood Vineyard’s Head Winemaker, Heidi von der Mehden. The Bordeaux blend was produced with 73 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 25 percent Merlot and 2 percent Petit Verdot providing a full range of flavors and aromas including black fruits as well as red raspberries and red currants. The Arrowood “Catchwire” pairs well with The Capital Grille’s aged Strip Steak and any of the red meat menu items.

The 2014 Generous Pour Wine Event will feature:

Carmel Road “Liberated,” Riesling, 2012 (Monterey, CA): A crisp, clean fruit salad in a glass. Enjoy the scents of nectarines and citrus that complement flavors of pure fruit and a touch of sweetness.
Atalon, Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 (Napa, CA): A brilliant straw color, aromas of lemon, gooseberry and lychee, and bright flavors of citrus, grass and pineapple make this an exceptionally crisp, lively Sauvignon Blanc.
Byron, Chardonnay, 2012 (Santa Barbara, CA): The wine begins with lovely aromas of stone fruit, fig and honey, followed by flavors of ripe apples, pineapple and pear. It finishes with hints of brown spice and minerals.
La Crema, Pinot Noir, 2012 (Willamette, OR): A stunning balance of acidity, earthiness and vibrant fruit. Violet, star anise, marionberry and bay leaf on the nose; brambly fruit, coffee and orange zest on the palate.
Freemark Abbey, Merlot, 2011 (Napa, CA): Deep ruby-garnet red in color with complex, layered flavors of blackberry, raspberry, black cherry, plum, dark chocolate, cinnamon, clove and vanilla.
Arrowood “Catchwire,” Bordeaux Blend, 2011 (Sonoma, CA): A masterful range of flavors and aromas, including black fruits as well as red raspberries and red currants with firm, smooth tannins and a vanilla oakiness that lingers.
Kendall-Jackson “Winemaker Selection,” Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 (Sonoma, CA): A bold greeting of black currant, blueberry and plum aromas, followed by flavors of cinnamon, vanilla and a hint of sage. As rich and velvety as a Cabernet can be.
